Together we can!
MY MESSAGE OF HOPE
My message to the good people of Dekina is this, All hope is not lost. We don't have any other place to call home than our beloved Dekina. It is in view of this, i volunteered to work together with all of us to birth a new Dekina that works for our collective good as a people.
We come prepared to lead from within with your support and prayers by the grace and approval of the ALMIGHTY God.
Our blueprint for Job creation, Infrastructural development/Maintenance, Security, Food Availability/Affordability/Security, Affordable & Accessible Healthcare, Compulsory Education, Gender Equality, Prosperity & Progress is second to none.
QUESTION OF GODFATHERISM:
I don't believe in godfatherism but popular appeal to the people. People keep asking me who is my godfather. My response to them is simple : I believe the goodwill you enjoy from your people based on existing relationship and track record should do the magic.
To me, Silver and gold i have not, neither do i have a specific godfather anywhere, but i have God, You (My People) and My BIG BOLD ideas that works.
To me, you reading this post/write up, the Men, Women, Youths and Children on the streets of Dekina Local Government Area remain my godfathers.
MY MOTIVATING FACTOR
What we have done for ourselves dies with us, what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal.
(Albert Pine)
My decision to join the race for the number one seat in Dekina Local Government Area (The largest in Nigeria) is borne out of my quest over the years to contribute my quota to the development of my fatherland.
Today, i receive calls from patriotic Dekinites who sees beyond the current political trend, of money, praise singing, thuggery & sectionalism. To those, i remain eternally grateful.
I also have received several calls from those who are bothered about my security going into the political space that is not rancour free. To those, my response is simple: Am not at war with anybody. Mine is a political movement that sees beyond today!
There is also this group of people who believe it can't be me. And i ask, is anyone more Dekinite than a true son of Odu Ogboyaga in Dekina Local government area of Kogi State?
To some others, its only moneybags that should talk about occupying political office.
To those my response is simple: Idea/goodwill/personality/popular appeal does it not money!
We come prepared with huge idea that can answer the many questions starring us in the face.
We are not dettered by the wind of popular demand but have decided to stick with our positive ideals and conviction enveloped in our believe for a more prosperous and safe Dekina were the people will determine who leads them, and not a Dekina for the highest bidder.
We are coming with sanity and we must make that our guiding principle.
Just like President Goodluck Jonathan will say : " Our ambition is not worth the blood of anyone".
To this end, we plead with our political leaders/party stakeholders to avail all the aspirants the opportunity to showcase what they have to offer. In doing this, money should be the least of the factor, as ideas not money rules the world.
Some have called to ask when am coming for official declaration and all that, please continue doing your bit, as i will soon be before you to declare officially and unveil my products to you and our dear people of Dekina.
The issues that bothers us in Dekina is a collective one that is obvious for every lover of our land to see. It is in view of this that, we decided to imbibe collective approach to our aspiration. The people will own the government, as we intend to lead from within by the special grace of God.
Like i always say, Silver and gold i have not, but i have God, you (my people) and my BIG BOLD IDEAS that works.
To this end, i so submit that am still very much in the race for the Chairmanship of Dekina local government come this year 2020.
Let our trust/hope/aspiration be centered on God, the people and our programmes. We come prepared to change the narratives for good. Join us to get this done.
Together we can!
Project Juliaro 4 Dekina 2020...
We are worried by this ugly trend of unemployment ravaging our land. Its part of our blueprint to proactively prepare the mind of our teeming youths towards learning various skills like plumbing, A/C maintenance, Generator maintenance, Tailoring, I.T related courses, Hospitality trainings etc etc . We will ensure we have vocational centres across the local government area to help our youths in this context.
Ours is a government that will tell ourselves the truth at all times. Plumbers, A/C Technicians, Electronic/Electrical Technicians etc are in high demands across the cities in Nigeria.
We intend to by the grace of God foot the bills for these trainings at the vocational centres to encourage as many of our youths to enrol and add value outside their educational pursuit. These trainings will be done during holidays for those in school, as we wouldn't wish away the importance of formal education.
We will reorientate our youths and change their thinking of already made white collar jobs which are in short supply across the various government establishments & parentals.
Our slogan in this context is simple: Get educated, learn a trade/hand work to be safe in Nigeria.
Together we can!
Dekina 2020.....................................
Our plan for Old People/Less Privileged...
In conjunction with the private sector, friends of Dekina & Donor agencies under the direct supervision of the social welfare department, DEKINA OLD PEOPLE/LESS PRIVILEGED HOME will be instituted and sustained to cater for this group of people in our midst.
At the old people/less privileged home, We intend to cater for this group of people by putting in place measures to tackle their Food/Clothing/Shelter/Health needs.
It is public knowledge that, the government cannot do it alone, hence our decision to involve Donor Agencies, Friends of Dekina, Private Sector and our privileged brothers and sisters (Home & Abroad).
We intend to run the place in conjunction with the Community Leaders, Voluntary Organisations and the Social Welfare Unit of the Local Government.
Free will donations of cash & materials will be initiated, encouraged and sustained.
These lofty ideas can only work with your support. Wouldn't you rather join us to achieve this?
Together we can!
Still on Dekina 2020
Am eager to see a brand new Dekina devoid of thuggery, drug abuse and other social vices.
A Dekina that will be seen as the center of attraction in Kogi State & beyond.
A Dekina that promotes gender equality and an all inclusive government. We will lead from within notwithal. Our job creation blueprint draws its strengths from Hospitality, Tourism and sport.
From sport alone, we are sure of creating nothing less than 100 quality jobs per year.
From Hospitality, we have a well laid down plan that will create at least 500 jobs in a year. In four years, we would have created 2000 jobs from Hospitality alone for our teeming unemployed youths.
We come prepared to attend to our immediate needs in the areas of restoration of peace and respect for our culture and belief system.
We will run a government that takes Agriculture serious with our eyes on food availability/
affordability/security. In health, we will work with relevant agents (public & private) to ensure a robust and affordable health care services. Never again will our women die trying to give birth.
We will serve as a bridge between the people at the grassroots, the state Government, donor agencies and our privileged brothers and sisters to ensure we develop Dekina quickly and open it to the world.
Tourism will be our joker, as we will revisit our tourist attraction centers across the local government area and breath life into them, which will inturn bring people from various states to our local government area, thereby boosting the economic activities within our land. The Hospitality industry will be the most fortunate for this.
In our blueprint is a situation that makes basic Education compulsory for our children via the cooperation of our well to do brothers and sisters within and in the diaspora. We will link up with them to ensure we make basic eduacation a must for our citizens.
Still on Education, in conjunction with speb, we will make sure teachers are highly motivated via training/retraining/refresher courses, timely payment of salaries and leave allowance, amidst other motivating factors. We will introduce teachers fund to be managed by competent Dekinite. This is to ensure our teachers get quality life while they continue to mould our children.
Still on education, in conjunction with NYSC, free extra moral classes will be initiated and sustained to keep our children in the public schools at per with their mates in the private schools.
On security, we will work with the police, civil defence, local vigilantes and other stakeholders to ensure we rid our land of criminal elements.
The spiritual controls the physical. In that context, we will introduce DEKINA PRAYS, That is going to hold every last friday of the month. In this programme, the various religion affiliations will participate, as we gather to seek the face of God on our land.
To our elders, their health and joy is top on our priority items, and as such, we will introduce comedy shows once every month to ensure they are entertained and are in good spirit. On infrastructure, continuous and steady maintenance and development plan will be unveiled and sustained.
Project juliaro 4 Dekina 2020 is about peace, unity, security, gender equality, an all inclusive government and progress. Urah pooooo
Together we can!
In Kogi today, and my Dekina in particular, we have different type of leaders. To some, all they need is for you to continue to be at their service always via asking them for financial and Material help, and in the process forcing the youths to see them as their God. That is the reason why praise singing and sycophancy is reigning supreme in our land.
We also have those whose joy is to see the youths and the poor grow and become better and useful to the larger society. This group of politicians go out of their ways to ensure they get jobs for our teeming youths, thereby reducing unemployment and bringing joy to the downtrodden.
As a politician/leader on the political field, don't deceive yourself, as the people know you more than you think. To some, its only them and nobody else.
We come prepared to draw a line between slave masters in disguise for political leadership and patriotic leaders and partners in progress.
We are in politics to encourage us to contribute our quota to the development of our land by bringing out the fact for the people to peruse
The people are watching, as its no more business as usual.
This issue cuts across party lines. Its in view of this, that we advise us to rate personality above party affiliation.
At PROJECT JULIARO 4 DEKINA 2020, our interest is in our collective good as a people, and not the interest of a collective few whose only bargain in politics is to keep developing self against the vast majority of the people.
Ours is a link that seeks the cooperation of all irrespective of party, religion and gender affiliation.
Our land will be great if only we agree to sell truth and patriotism over lies/deceit/selfishness/greed.
Together we can!
Project Juliaro 4 Dekina 2020
Growing up, we never cared much about the state and federal because we had a functional local government system. Doing projects at the grassroots, creating jobs and paying salaries. All that have become history. We will have it good again with our collective support and brainstorming on the way forward.
Still on Dekina 2020...
We must birth a new political ideology in Dekina deviod of blind followership, sycophancy and praise singing.
We must be able to sell workable ideas to our people and not looking for personal gains against our collective good. That is what we stand for at PROJECT JULIARO 4 DEKINA 2020.
Together we can!
Project Juliaro 4 Dekina 2020
I need your prayers and support all the way, as i embark on this journey to reclaiming our land from the hands of our collective tormentors.
Dekina as the biggest local government area in Nigeria, deserves quality and an all inclusive leadership. That am set to bring on board.
Mine is a political movement at its infancy that shouldn't be cowed into silence.
Quality leadership has eluded us for too long.
The political scene has been taken over by desperate players who have no respect for our people and culture.
Am coming to take us back to those days of politics without bitterness with focus on mutual love, an all inclusive government, gender equality in a safe and secured environment.
I have a dream of a prosperous Dekina that works for all.
We grew up to see Late Chief John Urah Ajibili play politics of love, togetherness and progress. That is the brand we are promoting as we venture into the murky waters of politics.
Never again will our youth, Men, Children and Women be killed for political reason.
I see a Dekina at the forefront of love, progress and togetherness on the political turf.
We will inculcate into our people a brand new political experience with utmost safety and progress not undermining the need for unity.
Juliaro cares....
Its time to take a quantum leap into the political space.
The soul of Dekina Local Government COUNCIL must be reclaimed and repositioned for optimum growth & development.
2019 End of the year Message...
As we approach the end of the year, i urge us all to think Dekina in our end of the year request to God.
There is no place like home. We must pray and act right in line with our believe and submission to the will of the ALMIGHTY God. He sees and knows our heart desires.
Dekina will once again be remembered for good.
I plead with us all to take our issues to God in prayers. As we ponder on those things that have stained our image in the public space, we should also reflect on those things that can unite us and give us a real sense of belonging as Dekinites.
We are in politics to right some glaring wrongs by the special grace of God.
Ours is a movement aimed at selling the idea of unity, peace and progress to our people. The political space must be sanitised by us all, as there will be no gain deceiving ourselves that all is well.
The door of the office of the Honourable Chairman Dekina Local Government COUNCIL must be closed to anti democratic forces but opened to those with ideas that works for the good of all. That is our belive at PROJECT JULIARO 4 DEKINA 2020.
Don't join the train of those who believe in what they can get rather than what they can give.
We are going about with the gospel of truth and sincerity over falsehood and deceit. Enough of lies. Lets face reality together.
Those who seek to lead us should not hide under the government of the day, but rather come out and tell us what they can do for Dekina.
Gone are the days when people are imposed on us without any viable working idea. Dekina is too big and intelligent to be deceived.
I have decided to work together with you to birth new political ideas within our political space.
The people have been battered and shattered for years now, as the local government system has become non-existent. While we clamour for local government autonomy, it is a direct opposite in our dear state. How do we get here?
Fellow patriotic Dekinites, we are in politics to make a statement that will reflect in sincere leadership that will listen to all. Ours will definitely be an all inclusive government that cares.
We are convinced that with you and by the help of the ALMIGHTY God, we shall collectively reclaim and reposition our land for greatness.
Silver and gold we have not but we have God, you and our BIG BOLD IDEAS that works for our collective good.
God bless and protect you all, as we embark on this journey.
Together we can!
The face of Hope!
Together we will reclaim and reposition our beloved Dekina for greatness...

Dekina 2020...
On Employment
You will agree with us that, youth unemployment is one of the serious challenge facing us today as a people. Its already an established fact that the government alone cannot create all the jobs needed by our teeming youths.
In view of the aforementioned, we will establish SCHOOL OF HOSPITALITY SERVICES inside Dekina Hotels.
My humble self have been in the Hospitality sector for many years now, and by the grace of God, am now a consultant in that sector.
You will also agree with me that, the Hospitality sector is one of the highest employer of labour in the world today...
I will use my links and connections in the Hospitality industry to make this a huge success. It will interest you to know also, that i will take time out of my busy schedule to train our youths personally in that school.
How will it work?
Simple, as of today, we have links with not less than 80 Hotels that will partner with us in this context across the country...
At Dekina School of Hospitality, we will train our youths on:
1. House Keeping
2. Catering
3. Front Office Management
4. Laundry/Drycleaning
5. Ushering
6. Meet and greet
7. Gardening
8. A/C Maintenance
9. Generator Maintenance
10. General Hotel Supervision
11. Hotel Management
Our plan is to create a conducive learning environment and ensuring that our youths numbering 50 per term goes through deep training on the aforementioned within the period of six months, after which they will be issued certificates and posted for three months I.T to our partner Hotels across the country...
We intend to create 50 jobs every year through this medium. In four years by the grace of God and with your prayers and support, we would have created at least 200 jobs from this sector alone for Dekina youths...
The idea is simple, after the three months I.T, they will be reabsorbed as staff of those Hotels...
We don't need billions of dollars to do this, the links are already there. If we can do it as individuals, then we will do more in government...
All we need is your support...
Together, this will be achieved!
Support: Achimugu Julius Arome as Executive Chairman Dekina Local Government...
On Health...
We shall work round the clock to ensure our people aconjunctionre healthy...
This we will do in with well meaning Dekinite, the World Health Organization (WHO), Rotary International and other stakeholders to embark on free medical examination, treatment and care for our elderly, Women and Children...
We will work with relevant authorities in the health sector (both private and public) to take health care to the nooks and crannies of our local government area...
Never again will our women die trying to give birth...
Till date, some of our communities don't have access to portable water, as they still drink from the flowing rivers within the communities. To curb this, we will go out of our way to partner with our brothers and sisters in the diaspora to ensure we have borehole and treatment plants in our communities. This will reduce the high risk of water borne diseases...
Ours is a government that cares...
Together we can!
On Sport...
Our aim is to revive all the government owned sport facility within the local government council...i:e The Ameh Oboni Stadium, and put them into maximum use...
Chairman's cup will be introduced and used as an avenue to pick at least 10 best players on a yearly basis and absorb them into Dekina Dragons FC, while working with our local and foreign partners towards linking the best of them all with clubs in europe...
We are looking at making the Chairman's cup a yearly thing, and our target is to ensure we showcase our best legs to the world of football...
In our quest to catch them young, we shall also introduce primary school sports festivals which holds every year. In that festival different sports and athletics will be introduced, and winners of such competition will be highly rewarded via scholarship in conjunction with the friends of the local government (Well to do individuals who are ready to promote sports)...
Wouldn't you rather join us to get this done...
Together we can!!
On Education...
We shall work in conjunction with the state primary education board to ensure teachers are disciplined and well motivated to carry out their duties effectively...
This we will do by ensuring that promotion, leave allowance, salaries and other entitlements are done as at when due...
We will also introduce extra classes for pupils in conjunction with NYSC across the local government...
We will introduce quiz competition across the public schools within the local government. This we will do on a yearly basis, and in conjunction with the friends of the local government and well to do old boys association of the various schools, the best from the quiz competition will be given scholarships for further studies up to University level...
In order to ensure every child in Dekina local government access basic education, we will work with our well to do brothers / Sisters of Dekina extraction to ensure children of the less privileged and orphans are taken care of...
This lofty ideas can only be achieved with your support...
Wouldn't you rather join us to get this done...

Know more about my political Mentor and inspirator.
He is the ideal example of a true and patriotic Igala son.
He stood and died fighting for the Igala course.
He never fight for self but a collective good of the Igala race.
I urge us all to copy this great son of the Igala race.
He is Dr. Steven Makoji Achema Alapa (Late)
As one of his disciples, i will continue to uphold his political ideals.
BIOGRAPHY OF LATE DR STEVEN MAKOJI ACHEMA WHO
DIED NOVEMBER 6th 1999 AN ICON IS GONE.
EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION
Born to the family of Andrew Achema Oyibo from Ayija clan
of the Aleji dynasty (Igalamela king makers). His mother Madam Adi nee Akor hails from Ogodo in Ikoja district of Ankpa local Government Area. He had his early education at the Native Authority boarding
primary school Ofugo. He attended the prestigious Government College Keffi. After his HSC he was retained as a student teacher in the school. The first student to have that
privilege before then. He proceeded to Ahmadu Bello University Zaria where he studied Veterinary medicine
graduating in 1975. While at the university he got involved in
students union politics especially at the regional level.
He became the National President of Igala Students
Association (ISA) while in the University and had a very
successful tenure. He led the protest against women taxation
in Igala land to the then kwara state Government. This led to
the abolition of women taxation among the Igala people.
Under his leadership ISA brokered a peace meeting among
the aggrieved parties in the Royal ruling house between
Opaluwa Oguche Anna Ata Ali Obaje in 1972.A situation that
brought lasting peace to the kingdom. So much were his
achievements that he was bestowed the life president of ISA
in 1975.
He had a stint in public service with the Benue state
Government when Ayangba Agricultural Development Project
(AADP) was established in 1978. He rose to the position of
deputy project manager (development services).
POLITICAL CAREER
He retired from public service at a young age of 34 on
grade level 16 in 1982. He joined the National Party of
Nigeria (NPN) and became a legislative aide to Senator
Ahmadu Ali after he exited the service of the Benue state
ministry of Agriculture. This was when he started his partisan
political carrier. He was in Lagos with Ahmodu Ali until he
resigned voluntarily to contest for the Benue States Secretary
of NPN. As the youth leader of the Igala/Bassa zone of the
party; he had endeared himself to the delegates to the
Markurdi convention. Dr. Achema and his associates were
ready to wrest powers from the old brigade. But the
‘POWERS THAT BE’ found him too radical and
independent minded for them so they denied him
accreditation to the venue of the convention. He was caught
up in the conspiracy game of politics. He resigned his
membership of the party in protest but did not decamp so he
quit politics temporarily and went into business.
He later became the National president of the Idah Divisional
Development Association (IDDA). During his tenure the
association established 13 community secondary schools in
the old Idah Local Government area now divided into four
Local Government Areas (Idah,Ibaji, Ofu and Igalamela/
Odolu). These schools are located at Ejule Ojebe, Oforachi,
Onicha Igo, Agojeju Umomi, Ajaka, Odolu, Akpanya Ejule Ugwolawo Ochadamu etc.
As leader of the youth wing of the movement for the creation
of Kogi State during the second republic, he organised
rallies in support for the creation of Kogi state. That increased his popularity among the Igala people.
In 1987, Gen Banbangida lifted the ban on political activities
with the experiment of the Zero party election into local
councils. The people of old Idah Local Government area felt
it was time for the new breed politicians to come on stage.
Dr Steven Achema became the beneficiary of this thought
process. He was beckoned to come and serve his people at
the grass roots. Through the support of friends and allies he
ran a very dynamic campaign organisation that culminated
into a land slide victory at the polls. When the results were
announced he won overwhelmingly.
He had an eventful tenure as Chairman of old Idah local
Government Area.
Dr. Achema employed young Igala graduates to occupy
positions in the Local Government service. He was the
Chairman of Chairmen of local Governments in Benue State
from March 1988-July1989. A position occupied only by the
Tiv,s until then.
He won the Chairmanship election the second time this time
on SDP party thicket (The first to be elected twice as
Chairman in the whole of Benue state) but was short-lived
because he resigned to contest the Governorship of Kogi
state in September 1991. He lost the election to Prince
Abubakar Audu.
He was a founding member of the middle Belt Forum and
became the head of the political committee of the group.
Wth the likes of Chief Solomon Lar, Air Comodore Dan
Suleiman, Air Comodore Jonah David Jang, Late Fr. Moses
Adasu, Prof Jerry Gana ,Amb. Yaya Kwande, Fidelis Tapgun,
Alh Saba Lafiagi and a host of other big names in the north
central Geo Political Zone. He became the leader of the
Igala caucus of the SDP in Kogi state. He provided a
formidable opposition to the ruling party the NRC. This
position made his house at Idah a political Mecca to
Presidential aspirants seeking the Igala people’s votes on
the SDP platform. Notable among them were late Gen Shehu
Yar,adua,Chief Olusola Saraki,Prof Jerry Gana,Mrs Sera Jibril,
late Chiefe MKO Abiola, Olu Falae Sen. Mamud Waziri,
Arthur Nzeribe and a host of others. Normally he negotiates
on behalf of the Igala people what is their place if they
eventually become President. He loved his people so much
and the people loved him in turn especially the down
trodden. Dr. Achema dared big politicians like Shehu Yar,dua
and Olusola Sarki preferring Prof Jerry Gana the candidate of
the middle belt forum and friend of the Igala people in the
presidential primary election. This action cost him from being
elected as deputy National Chairman (North) in the SDP.
He became a member of the Alex Ekwueme led institute for
civil society that later became G-34 in 1998. It was the G-34
that opposed Gen Sani Abacha in his self-succession bid.
Achema was the only Igala man in the group. The group
metamorphosed into the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
On the day of the launch of the party at the International
Conference Centre Abuja he was on the front row as a
founding member. He became the chairman of the steering
committee of the party in Kogi state. He resigned from being
chairman to contest the Governorship seat of Kogi State on
PDP ticket but later withdrew from the race sensing the
intrigues. He later partnered with Late Senator A.T Ahmed
leader of the Central Senatorial district and openly
campaigned for Prince Abubakar Audu the APP candidate to
win the 1998 Gubernatorial election against his party. This
action cost him a ministerial position in the Obasanjo
administration because his Igala brothers in the party
colaborated with the Okun people to accuse him before the
board of trustees of PDP of anti-party activities. Against
these odds, Dr Achema was appointed as Senior Special
Assistant to President Obasanjo on professional bodies and
labour matters. A position he held until his death.
Dr. Achema was nickname “ALAPA”. Meaning the
blacksmiths iron that dares the fire.
DEMISE
Tragedy struck in the early hours of 6th November 1999. Dr
Steven Makoji Achema died at Koton- karfi on the Jamata
Bridge in a ghastly motor accident. He was on his way to
Lokoja to facilitate for Chief John Odawn to be the State
Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) He was
going to actualising the Igala dream of producing a Governor
in PDP.
may his soul rest in peace
